Skill Level: 3 out of 5 (Intermediate)
Pattern Description:
NOTE: Two Hearts Beating as One requires familiarity with paper piecing.
The Two Hearts Beating as One pattern uses a combination of Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) and traditional piecing. The heart blocks are paper pieced to reduce the number of seams and to help achieve a repeated and crisp block. For paper piecing beginners, details paper piecing instructions may be found online on many blogs and YouTube.
Each quilter has a different preference on the size of fabric piece relative to the size of the paper pieced section. This pattern calls for generous fabric sizes to accommodate all skill levels. Before cutting all of the fabric for the paper pieced blocks, I recommend sewing a test block to see if you would like to adjust any of the sizes to meet your personal piecing needs.
The pattern includes coloring pages for all six quilt sizes (mini, baby, lap, large lap, twin, and queen).
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
Mini: 24″ x 24″
Baby: 36″ x 48″
Lap: 48″ x 60″
Large Lap: 60″ x 72″
Twin: 72″ x 84″
Queen: 84″ x 96″
