Pattern Description:

I have developed an affinity for using transparency as a technique for achieving a balance and interest in my quilt pattern designs. In Spiraling Petals, my goal was to merge both the idea of transparency as the way something looks when light shines through it and the implication of openness together to create a modern, graphic quilt depicting an opening rose. Hence the soft, round edges and sharp, crisp points merging together into a cohesive whole.

Spiraling Petals is noted as an intermediate pattern for its inclusion of 6-inch quarter circle blocks. The pattern includes printable templates and detailed instructions for piecing quarter circle blocks.

Included in the pattern is a page of information and tips about how to approach fabric selection for a transparency design. Also included is a blank quilt pattern for coloring or quilting motif doodling.
