Crooked Crosses and Bent Boxes is a semi-improv modern quilt pattern, written for advanced beginners who want the look and feel of improv but who are not quite ready to give up your rulers. This modern quilt pattern contains instructions for 3 quilt sizes using Fat Quarters, Quarter Yards, Half Yards or Yardage.

Quilt Sizes and Fabric Requirements:
Baby quilt, 30 x 30 inches:
o Top: 6 FQs or QYs of various colors
o Binding: ⅜ yard
o Backing: 1 ⅛ yards
o Batting: 38 x 38 inch
Small Throw, 50 x 60 inches:
o Top: 1 yard each of 6 colors or 20 FQs or QYs or 10 HYs of various colors
o Binding: ½ yard
o Backing: 3 ½ yards
o Batting: 58 x 68 inch
Large Throw, 60 x 75 inches:
o Top: 1 ⅓ yards each of 6 colors or 30 FQs or QYs or 15 HYs of various colors
o Binding: ½ yard
o Backing: 4 yards
o Batting: 68 x 83 inch

Important Pattern notes:
o Pattern assumes WOF is at least 40 inches for quilt top yardage, 42 inches for backing fabric and 42.5 inches for QYs. For fabric that does not meet these minimum requirements, adjust by adding length.
o A 5.5 inch square quilting ruler is recommended for trimming ‘wonky’ blocks.
o The cover quilt is a small throw size using 1 yard each of the following 6 Kona Cotton Colors: Valentine, Watermelon, Creamsicle, Wasabi, Pickle and Capri.
