Michelle Cain is a quilt maker based in Massachusetts. She tried *not* to follow in her mother's footsteps and become a quilter, but a chance encounter with Denyse Schmidt's What a Bunch of Squares notecards while shopping for stationery introduced her to the world of modern quilting and convinced her there might be a place for her in it.
Michelle is drawn to simple but striking quilts, and her designs often toe the line between traditional and modern. Her projects have been featured at QuiltCon, in Curated Quilts, and on websites like Moda Bake Shop and Sew Mama Sew.
In a previous life, Michelle was a marketing writer and editor for books, magazines, and websites. Since 2014, she has been writing the quilting blog From Bolt to Beauty.
